Another World … Another Time

I hear your voice fade away
a mix of static and the distance

A walk on the third floor
the terrace that sways with the palm
I hear you voice fade away
a mix of static and the distance

The unbiased clouds move
trashing dust as sprinklers turn on
the warm sun bathes everything down

Your arms lift me
and I hold on to the moment
this moment already fading into memory

I move down along the rickety steps
giving away to the free fall
the moment I so dearly cherish
in another world another time

I gaze at the beautiful farm
once an empty path
remember the walks to the well
the tortoise that fell from the sky

Turning around on this high rise
I feel you despite the miles apart
the moment I so dearly cherish
Seems like another world another time
